I'm looking for a minimum training plan for some solo high sec ganking. The group of bots I'm targeting have similar fits, the one below being the best of the bunch, others have varying degrees of lesser tanks.
Even though this will not always be the case, I'd like to assume the ganks will take place in a 0.7 system and target's relevant skills are all V's.
[Hulk] Expanded Cargohold II Expanded Cargohold II
EM Ward Field II Thermic Dissipation Field II Small Shield Extender II Survey Scanner II
Modulated Strip Miner II, Veldspar Mining Crystal I Modulated Strip Miner II, Veldspar Mining Crystal I Modulated Strip Miner II, Veldspar Mining Crystal I
Medium Cargohold Optimization I Medium Core Defense Field Extender I
EHP: 12,198 (uniform damage profile - EX/KIN ~1500EHP less) EM 71.9 TH:77.5 KN:62.5 EX:65 Sig: 160m
I'm not particular on race or weapons, my #1 priority would be to minimize training time. Cost of ships, skills, fitting, implants - within reason - should not be a problem. Obviously I'll need to train the weapons, hull, thermodynamics, but unsure how far I need to take these skills and what support skills will be most helpful.
Mostly I'm unsure what hull and weapons I should going for, the rest should I should be able to discern from EFT.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks

Lol...great response. About what I expected, but I'll bet someone gives me a good answer or two, so no worries.
Obviously I'm a huge carebear and have no ganking experience, but doesn't mean I'm trolling.
You would think with all the whining children like you do about carebears, when one actually wants to blow some sh*t up, you might be more helpful.

With some basic eft'ing, the dessie's look like i could take out untanked hulks in .5, but a few of these guys stay in .7/.8 systems and plug their EM hole.
Thanks for the link to the barge buffs, I didn't realize those changes had been quantified yet. And the tornado is definitely on my list, though skills like BCV are aweful long for my short term purposes. Also been looking at arty cane and blaster brutix which seem a little quicker train.
Best answer may just be to go with dessie and fleet up with a couple others, though I doubt many in my corp would be interested. Be much easier if I can manage to solo
thank you both for your responses! |

Lol, I love it. You are very creative, I bet mommy and daddy are proud. Least other people in C&P seem to have the guts to act like a douche on their main
I didn't ask for a guide, or can you not read? I asked for a specific situation in .7 space which anyone who pays attention knows would be a challenge versus popping untanked hulks in .5(which I didn't ask about) |

I asked for a specific situation in .7 space which anyone who pays attention knows would be a challenge versus popping untanked hulks in .5(which I didn't ask about) Are you trying to act as if the fit in your OP is a Tanked hulk? Slapping on 2 hardeners hardly makes for a tank. See a damage control, shield rigs etc on it then we'll talk. And obviously, you dont understand my post, so Ill make it simple for you: Ganking a hulk is the most pathetically easy thing to do, regardless of sec status, as sec status rises it more or less just becomes more expensive. 2 People can gank a hulk in 1.0 sec space but it will cost them, hell, maybe 1 guy can do it, I dont quite have the numbers. So need advice on how to do it just proves that youre some kind of "want to be pvp'er but is too scared/dumb/ignorant/clueless/boring/unimaginative/etc" Whining that Im posting on ZE ALT is the oldest sorta argument ever, when thats the only thing people can come up with, you know you've won. Try again.
Lol, love this guy, he's like one of those telephone tough guys, but when you show up at his door, he's 15 with braces and and covered in acne.
And yes, I proclaimed myself a carebear in my second post, that was part of my ingenious plan show you what an elite pvp'er i am.
And, for someone who runs his mouth like such a little b*tch, yes, it is lame to post on your alt.
I expected plenty of trolls in the thread, so it's all good.
Aggravating bottom feeders like this **** warms my heart, maybe I should come here more often. |

Dave stark wrote:google it, there's a guide for it written by the people organizing hulkageddon. i found it the other day.
Yeah, there is a lot of info out there, my google fu is not that useless. If people used the info out there exclusively, there wouldn't be any forum discussions at all.
Even in this guide, it says: (http://tacticalentertainment.tv/hulkageddon-guide-2012)
As a baseline, the following chart uses a 0.5 system (with slow CONCORD response times) as an example:
Target Ship Thrashers Catalysts Tornados Retriever 1 1 OVERKILL Mackinaw 2-3 1-2 1 Hulk 4-5 3-4 1-2
So, like I said, to solo gank a hulk in .7 space, I'm looking for some guidance from people who have presumably done exactly that before. |

Awesome, thanks! I do have alts for warp in and salvage. I also intend the pop the pods if given the chance. Gonna try some runs on sisi with an alt i have trained up already and see how it goes. |

Pizza Face wrote:Popped a Hulk in an 0.7 three weeks ago in virtually the same catty fit as Daemon provided.
Hulk was fitted thus:
SSE II Invul II Small SB II
2 x Med Core Def Field Purgers
Alt has fairly mediocre gunnery support, but I have installed a couple of +3 damage hardwirings which helps. It's unlikely you're going to get podded unless you're a total c*ck, so shove 'em in.
That's good to hear, i didn't really expect a catty to do the job in .7. Even though the SB and purgers are a bit....useless?....at least there was some tank on there and pretty similar ehp to my worst case targets.
And +3's are definitely on my agenda, plenty cheap enough and probably have what I need laying around.
thanks!

But, if you got the ISK and really don't care, go for broke. An Arty Nado will typically do 8,000-10,000 dmg/volley but with the slight EHP buffs on Hulks it may not be enough to get a 2nd volley off to kill the damn thing before Concordokken.
This. Nothing worse than waiting for your guns to cycle around for the killing volley and getting Conked just before it happens.
Yeah, i don't care about the isk(realizing I'll make at least a decent portion back, anyway). From what I have put together on EFT the catty, brutix, nado all seem doable, though I would be extremely pissed if I can't get that last shot of in time in a more expensive BC. I do have the character slots available, so I am also considering going with 2 catalysts, but i'm not sure I really want to use 2 slots for -10 sec chars....will see how my testing on sisi goes |

Blinders II is fine unless you want to start accusing all miners of botting ... in which case you need Blinders V; don't worry it's quickly trained.
I can't believe no one else mentioned these support skills; I'll get right to work on them! |

I almost forgot how cool it makes you to make up crap about how people act and look like in real life. You must have that "Internet tough guy V" skill yourself coupled with "Old crappy interwebs smack V" OH and Im not getting angry in any way, I couldnt care less if highseccers lose their ships. Im just pointing out how undeniably lame it is to ask for fits to shoot whats basically an asteroid with a player "piloting" it.
lol, then why do you keep coming back? You been whining through the whole thread.
too funny |

lol, thanks. I wouldn't say I'm a miner (do a bit of everything), but I'm much more a carebear miner than a pvp'er, so I hear ya. Thanks for the tips. Watching bots strip my belts 23/7 over the last couple months has motivated me to leave my carebear ways behind...for a short while at least ;) And a pirate alt just seems handy to have anyway.....even for a carebear. |
